10th Year Anniversary Charity Funday Saturday 25th July 2015

The Nottingham Riding for the Disabled would like to express our sincere thanks to Goose at Gamston for supporting our charity on their Charity Funday.  The staff were all marvellous and dressed in medieval costumes, collecting donations, face painting, running a cake stall, bbq, raffle and much more. The live music from 1 - 10 pm was amazing - thanks to all concerned.

Avenue Farm Saturday 18th July 2015

Our fund raisers were out in force with our stall at Avenue Farm Garden Party in Normanton on the Wolds on Saturday 18th July 2015.

It was a fine sunny day and the many visitors attending the event were able to take part in our Treasure Hunt;  children enjoyed having their faces painted and adults were encouraged to purchase a Quiz Sheet and items from our stall which included plants kindly donated by Moores Garden Centre.

Fun Dog Show – Saturday 20th June 2015

A fun filled day was enjoyed by dogs and their owners alike on Saturday 20th June at Long Whatton Community Centre.

Show classes included “The dog most like its owner”, “The dog with the waggiest tail” and “Best rescue”.  Competitors were also able to take part in a dog agility course along with activities such as best biscuit catcher and retrieve from a bucket of water.

The overall Best in Show prize was won by golden retriever Jimmy Grimble and the runner up was a lurcher called Spike.

Generous donations of home made cakes ensured the refreshment stall was busy which, together with a tombola, bric a brac and raffle, helped raise funds for both our group and All Saint’s Church, Long Whatton.

Despite the showery weather visitors said they had had a great day out.
